Lux TX9000TS Touch Screen Seven-Day Programmable Thermostat

Lux TX9000TS Touch Screen Seven-Day Programmable Thermostat Description

Efficient. Easy. Economical. That's why you'll love the Lux TX9000TS seven-day programmable thermostat. This clever device gives you complete and accurate temperature control at the touch of a finger. Compatible with a variety of heating and cooling systems, this thermostat incorporates do-it-yourself installation, a responsive touch screen, and a large lighted display for straightforward programming and operation.

Customize Your Home's Heating and Cooling Schedule
With the TX9000TS it's easy to set a daily heating and cooling schedule for your home, which can ensure your comfort and potentially reduce your utility costs. With easy-to-use menu-driven programming and intuitive touch-screen commands, this thermostat allows you to program up to four different time and temperature settings in a 24-hour period (morning, day, evening, and night). You also have the option of setting a different program for every day of the week.

Wallet-Friendly Choice
The TX9000TS can be an energy-efficient choice that can save your family approximately 33% on energy bills.

It comes pre-programmed with a default energy-conserving heating and cooling schedule that's designed to save up to $180 in energy costs over one year.

And thanks to the keyboard lockout feature, the TX9000TS is great for households with small children or other potential unauthorized users.

User-Friendly Features and Operating Simplicity
Incredibly user friendly, the TX9000TS boasts a range of helpful features to simplify both programming and everyday operation. First, a large blue electroluminescent display is easy to read--even in low light--and clearly shows the current day, time, temperature, and filter status.

Additionally, audible touch confirmation indicates that your choices are being registered, while snowflake and flame icons indicate cooling or heating mode. For further convenience, a filter-usage monitor allows you to set filter limits from zero to 720 hours of use, and a "replace" icon will appear when battery power is running low.

The TX9000TS is compatible with a number of heating and cooling operational systems, including most 24-volt systems, single-stage systems, heating-only and cooling-only systems, furnace systems, central air-conditioning systems, heat pumps without auxiliary heat, two-wire hydronic systems, and 750-millivolt systems.

Make sure you don't need a multi-stage Thermostat, February 16, 2012 By Gretchen Guard (Wilmington, NC USA)

My husband and I were being clever and thought we'd install our own thermostat. We neglected to realize, however, that we have a heat pump which requires a multi-stage thermostat. Just wanted to let everyone know to BEWARE and check to see what you require before ordering.

Almost wish I had waited two years..., February 16, 2012 By Zen Williston (Heavenly Valley, NV United States)

This is by far the best thermostat I have owned. I only have heat, so I cannot comment on the cooling ability, but I assume it would work as well. I bought this item at a local box store two years ago for nearly three times the price amazon has it for. What a deal! It is a great computer and has worked flawlessly for over two years. Do not miss the "copy" setting for all other days after you set up one full 24 hr periods, if all your days are the same.

best of 4 in my house, February 16, 2012 By Bruce H

with four zones in my house, each created at different times, I have 4 different programmable thermostats. This is clearly the best. Love the large, easy to read touchscreen display. Programming, for the most part, is as good as if not better than most programmable 'stats - yes, you have to step through start time, end time, and temperature for each time period for each day, but that's how most do it (limited by the display really). At least the display on this Lux is clear. The only less than obvious programming step is copying from one day to the next.

I'm tempted to buy some today (gold box discount) just to upgrade one or two of my other brands.

Don't be afraid... this is a nice thermostat!, February 16, 2012 By J. Miller

I've been running this thermostat for several months now and have had nothing but very positive experiences with it.... especially when you consider the low price I paid when it was on sale. We have definitely seen energy bill savings after installing this, but your experience may vary. We have long periods where the temp is set at 65, and that may be too cold for some.

PROS: Feature rich. Relatively easy to program. Enough settings/options for most any normal home. Monitors filter hours (love this). Tracks daily energy usage. Easy to override heat settings - and it will pick up the program again if you forget to reset the override (some people do not like this but I think this is great).

CONS: Only displays last two days of energy usage data. Cumbersome to replace batteries.

Folks seem to complain about the menu system and/or programming... but I don't get it. A brief read of the owner's manual and there's is NOTHING TO IT! Don't be scared off by the "programming".

Overall... I like this enough to write a positive review which is something I rarely do.

Just great, February 6, 2012 By Alf

Got it out of the package and after 45 minutes of easy to follow instructions, this was up and working. Took about 10 minutes to program, and have not had to touch it since. Maintains my house at temperatures that I like when I'm there, and turns off when I'm not. Best product for the price.

Awesome Thermostat, January 24, 2012 By S. Gay "Sue in SLC" (Salt Lake City, UT)

This Lux TX9000TS thermostat works wonderfully. I found it easy to program and YES you do need to read the instructions!!! I put the batteries in and sat on the couch with the thermostat on my lap so I could read, check and program - worked just great!
Installation was even easier as the back plate holes lined up with my existing thermostat perfectly! No drilling, no patching! Make sure you label the wires before you pull them off your old thermostat and YES labels are included with the LUX. Pay attention to the old wiring and if you need to make a little sketch of how the old thermostat was wired!
The users who didn't like this thermostat didn't read the directions!

Awesome product!!!, January 22, 2012 By Steve Deverall (Louisville, KY, USA)

I installed this in under 5 minutes and set it up in about 20 minutes (only because I wasn't sure of what I was doing). Now, it is a snap to use but I don't need to adjust it. Just set it and forget it. I have had it over two months now and have saved at least 30% each month over my old thermostat. My house is old and incredibly inefficient but this was my first step to help out the enviroment and my pocketbook. It will pay for itself in about 5 months so I am totally happy! Do you research and just try to find a complaint about this thermostat...you won't.

Works well, easy to use, January 20, 2012 By gotmoretoys

PROS: Easy to use, easy to setup, easy to change batteries, easy to read.
CONS: lacks some useful but unnecessary features, such as return to programmed schedule after 1 hour instead of at next schedule time.

One thing I really like are that the entire unit can be removed from the wall and held in your hand for programming or battery change.
the display is easy to read.

Installation was simple and the instructions were clear.
